Finance & Administration Officer

About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and organised Finance & Administration Officer to support our Head of Finance and help keep our operations running smoothly.
This is a varied role combining finance, administration, and office coordination – ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple tasks and wants to contribute to meaningful environmental work.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain financial records using accounting software (Sage)
- Process invoices, payments, and expenses
- Support payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Assist with bank reconciliation and audit preparation
- Manage office admin, records, and enquiries
- Coordinate meetings and provide general team support
- Assist with procurement, HR admin, and Health & Safety processes
About You
Essential:
- Strong administration experience
- Good MS Office skills (especially Excel)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
Desirable:
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience with Sage or finance systems
- An understanding of GDPR and financial confidentiality
- Knowledge of charity finance

Location
This role is primarily office-based in Darlington, with potential for some remote working.
