At Genestack we are tackling the underlying computational and scientific challenges of bioinformatics in order to provide researchers with software tools that will streamline the discovery process and drive forward precision medicine, drug development, and bioinformatics research.Our platform is deployed at leading pharmaceutical, agricultural, and consumer goods companies as well as leading academic institutions and this is just the beginning of our journey.We are seeking a commercially astute Account Manager with a passion for the Life Sciences industry. This individual will take full responsibility for managing and growing our existing accounts within the Pharmaceuticals, Agriscience, Academia/Government and Consumer Goods sectors. The ideal candidate will possess the initiative and expertise to drive commercial growth, expand the user base, and build strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders. As a small business they will also be given sufficient autonomy to be able to suggest and design processes and growth initiatives to enable them to meet their goals.Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of existing accounts in the Pharma, Agriscience, and Consumer Goods sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Conduct regular account reviews, identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and lead contract renewal drafting and negotiations.
  • Commercial Growth:
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve commercial growth targets.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the user base and deepen product adoption within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Support) to tailor solutions and drive value for clients.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, to understand their objectives and align our solutions to meet their needs.
  • Present product updates, annual kick-off and end of year customer review meetings. • Arrange on-site and virtual training sessions, workshops and other novel initiatives to enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Initiative & Problem Solving:
  • Proactively identify challenges and opportunities within accounts, taking the initiative to address issues and drive improvements.
  • Leverage industry knowledge to anticipate client needs and recommend innovative solutions. • Use industry knowledge to understand customer use cases and needs and identify commercial opportunities where appropriate.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
  • Monitor account performance, generate regular reports on key metrics, and present insights and risk mitigation plans to senior management.
  • Use data-driven analysis to track progress, forecast growth, and refine account strategies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree, PhD or relevant certifications (e.g., in SaaS, Account Management) is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in account management, sales, or client services, ideally within the SaaS and professional services industry.
  • Proven track record of exceeding targets by managing and growing accounts within the Life Sciences sector, particularly in Pharmaceuticals, SMEs, Academia, Agriscience, and/or Consumer Goods.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive revenue growth and expand user bases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in using CRM tools (e.g., Pipedrive) and other account management software.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional English language skills (Written, verbal and aural @ C1 preferred, C2 minimum).
