Associate Risk Management Officer

As an Associate Risk Management Officer, you will undertake a range of clearly defined tasks circumscribing Portfolio Analysis and Reporting (PAR) and Data Management (DM). You also support data entries and processing, database maintenance, modelling, and basic analysis necessary for risk reporting on ADB’s sovereign and non-sovereign portfolios.

  • Help with data collection, verification, and entry into relevant databases.
  • Help with data processing and portfolio analysis required for the quarterly risk management reports including calculation of expected loss and capital adequacy ratios using ADB models and assessment of movements in exposure and main causes thereof.
  • Help prepare reports and presentations for the quarterly risk management reporting and ad-hoc reporting to internal/external partners.
  • Ensure accuracy of the produced report and presentations by performing data reconciliation, investigation of discrepancies, and proofreading.
  • Help prepare other periodic memos reporting the changes in the portfolio quality including watch list transactions list, ratings and risk category changes, and delayed risk monitoring.
  • Do analytics and narratives writing for the quarterly risk management reporting.
  • Participate in the development and testing for several projects including: automation of ORM reporting and limit management tool.
  • Review reports received from other divisions and teams.
  • Extract and evaluate risk related data, and liaises with partners.
  • Maintain and test data and prepare reports.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as may be required by the supervisors about the tasks of PAR and DM teams.

Qualifications:

You will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or other relevant fields, preferably with advanced training.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in major commercial banks, or consulting/accounting firms before joining ADB.
  • Advance computer skills with sound knowledge of common word-processing, spreadsheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets), PowerPoint, graphics software used within ADB, financial modeling and macro.
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts.
  • Experience delivering accurate work with minimal errors by reviewing information carefully.
  • Analytical data skills in identifying patterns and creating solutions.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise.
  • Experience reviewing numerical data to identify patterns, verify accuracy, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
