Associate Safeguards Analyst

As an Associate Safeguards Analyst, you will provide operational support in achieving OSFG’s work relevant to ADB safeguards policy and procedures, which include supporting project implementation, preparation and use of administrative budget, and ensuring compliance of related transactions with ADB’s established practices.

Project Administration:

  • Support project administration ensuring monitoring, and reporting.
  • Respond verbally or in writing to internal and external queries and requests for information on projects.
  • Monitor project compliance with ADB practices.
  • Help improve partner communications and grievance redress and related monitoring and reporting.
  • Undertake consultant recruitment.
  • Manage related databases.
  • Work Program and Budget Programming and Management
  • Contribute to the preparation of the team’s annual administrative budget by consolidating the team’s work program and preparing corresponding financial resource requirements and background materials. Prepare the midterm budget review and revised budget estimates.
  • Review, analyze budget requirements for business travel, staff consultants, representation, staff overtime, and other expenditures to ensure budget availability. Monitor use of administrative budget to ensure that expenditures are accounted for and that deviations from forecasts are justified. Recommend budget reallocation and appropriate based on the teams’ requirements and work programs.
  • Record and review budget information in applicable systems against the team’s budget requirements. Advise colleagues on cost-efficient ways to use available budget according to the climate change work program within a specified period.

Operational and Knowledge Support:

  • Support our/implementation of safeguards-related training, seminars, conferences, and workshops.
  • Support activities related to knowledge and support ADB publishing process relevant to safeguards.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned and reflected in the workplan.

Qualifications:

You will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, communications, or other fields combined with relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in multilateral organization relating to project support, administration, and other administrative work.
  • Familiarity with scope of work of ADB on safeguards and knowledge of ADB policies will be given higher preference.
  • Proficiency in database management.
  • Research and check data from external and internal sources, reconcile or explain inconsistencies.
  • Can work with teams as a constructive team member.
  • Can work with individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds.
  • Good coordination and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
