Green Angel Ventures

Business Development Manager – Climate Change Fund

About Green Angel Ventures

Green Angel Ventures is the reference early-stage investor for UK climate innovation.

We invest through our EIS Climate Change Fund and through Green Angel Syndicate, one of the UK’s largest angel syndicates. Our team, specialist angel members and partners provide the capital, expertise and networks to help emerging climate technology companies grow.

More than 900 people have invested through us into 55 companies. Five have already returned capital to investors, and several have the potential to become significant winners.

While others are pulling away from climate mitigation and adaptation, we are doubling down. We review more than 1,000 investment opportunities each year, giving investors access to a strong pipeline of UK climate innovation. Green Angel Ventures is a multi-award-winning firm, most recently named Investor of the Year at the 2026 edie Awards.

We are seeking an experienced Business Development professional to grow investment into the Climate Change Fund through IFAs and wealth managers. The Climate Change Fund is entering its next phase of growth, and expanding our adviser distribution channel is one of our highest strategic priorities. We are looking for someone to lead this effort, significantly increase assets under management and play a central role in the Fund’s future success.

The role

This is a focused sales and fundraising role with a climate mission. You will build relationships with IFAs, financial planners and wealth managers, building significant, recurring investment in the Fund.

The adviser channel is still at an early stage and you will have the opportunity to build something substantial, make a direct fundraising impact, and channel more capital into climate innovation. Working closely with the Chief Investment Officer, you will shape how Green Angel Ventures grows one of its most important fundraising channels.

What you will be doing:

  • Raise capital: Reach out to new contacts and use your existing network to develop relationships with adviser firms, wealth managers and key decision-makers, presenting the Fund persuasively and progressing opportunities through to investment.
  • Build the adviser channel: Develop a strong pipeline, understand firms’ research and approval processes, build long-term relationships and represent GAV at meetings, conferences and industry events.
  • Work across GAV: Collaborate with the investment and marketing teams to communicate the Fund’s strategy and portfolio, improve our adviser proposition and materials, and report clearly on fundraising progress.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant experience and network: Several years of financial services sales, fundraising or business development experience; direct relationships with IFAs and wealth managers; and a track record of converting those relationships into results. Experience of EIS, venture capital, private markets or tax-efficient investments is particularly valuable.
  • Sales capability: A target-driven person, credible and persuasive, with the resilience to open new relationships, the judgement to prioritise effectively and the discipline to manage opportunities through to completion.
  • Communication and judgement: An excellent communicator who can explain a specialist investment proposition simply and accurately, build trust with senior professionals and operate with high standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Motivation: Someone with a genuine desire to build a fundraising channel almost from scratch, make a visible contribution to the Fund’s growth and help direct more private capital towards climate solutions.

You should have a strong interest in climate change, sustainability and early-stage innovation.

Measures of success – Success will be measured by capital raised, the quality and growth of the adviser network, pipeline conversion, progress through firms’ approval processes and repeat investment from established relationships.

Location – Green Angel Ventures is remote-first. The role involves regular meetings and events, many in London, plus occasional UK travel. You should live within practical travelling distance of London.

Career opportunity – You will take ownership of an important growth channel. As it develops, there may be scope to lead broader distribution strategy, key relationships and the growth of the business development function.

Benefits

  • Base salary of £50k, plus an uncapped performance-related incentive.
  • Auto-enrolment pension, monthly home-working allowance and BHSF Healthcare.
  • 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays and your birthday, increasing with service.
  • Flexible working, paid low-carbon travel days and a £500 annual training budget.
