Salary £29,274 per annum, fixed term for 12 months, 35 hours per week.
The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BBCT) is looking for an experienced and self-motivated full-time Conservation Projects Manager (Species Recovery) maternity cover for 12 months to lead on the delivery of our species recovery work, working towards our Strategic aim that “Our threatened bumblebees are on the road to recovery and no other bumblebees become threatened”.
It’s an exciting time to join the team and be part of our species recovery work. With a range of projects in development and underway, you could be taking forward innovative projects trialling habitat interventions for threatened species, working with research partners to fill species knowledge gaps, helping better understand the value of sea walls for Shrill carder bee, connecting vital habitats for rare bumblebees in south Wales, or working with farmers to develop innovative pollinator-friendly farm packages.
You will be an experienced conservation professional with a sound understanding of landscape scale species conservation. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of project, people and budget management, project development, writing funding bids and managing a partnership. An understanding of the ecology and conservation of threatened bumblebees is highly desirable. Experience in developing and carrying out species (inc. botanical) and habitat monitoring and assessment is essential.
This is a full time (35 hours per week) fixed term position, home-based (ideally in south-east England) with frequent travel to project locations. Some overtime work may be required and a flexitime system is in place.
