Job DescriptionUE07: £40,247 to £47,874College of Science and Engineering / InformaticsFull time – 35 hours per weekFixed-term – 2 years, with the possibility of an extensionThe School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of generative AI.The Opportunity:Working with Dr. Changjian Li and Dr. Laura Sevilla-Lara, the research will focus on cutting-edge research in generative AI.The research will explore areas such as content creation (e.g., text-to-2D images, 3D models, and videos), motion capture, and animation, among others.The candidate will engage with gaming, filming, and animation practitioners to understand their pain points and define research topics based on real-world challenges. This is a research position, where the goal is to publish at top-tier conferences. The post is part of the CoSTAR Realtime Lab, a big interdisciplinary team across multiple universities, pushing the boundaries of generative AI for creative endeavors.Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Ph.D. degree (or nearing completion)
  • A strong background in computer graphics and vision, and research expertise in generative AI, e.g., diffusion models, and radiance fields.
  • Publications at top venues in CG, CV or/and ML (e.g., SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAH Asia, TOG, Eurograhics, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, …).
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++).
  • Experience with modern deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills, and excellent command of English.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, to meet deadlines and to report on project progress.
