Delivery Manager – Moors For the Future Partnership

Edale, Hope Valley

£35,412 to £38,220 per annum

The Role

We are looking for an experienced team leader to help our conservation and land management team
deliver an annual programme of moorland restoration projects as part of the award-winning Moors
for the Future Partnership. As we enter another 5 year period of work funded by our partners,
this post will ensure that both contracts and quality standards are delivered well.

Working as the deputy to the Conservation and Land Programme Manager, you will help the
operational team develop and deliver creative land management solutions to affect positive
landscape scale change through targeted project work. There will be both desk-based and field
work, with the emphasis upon developing and delivering conservation projects. There will be a
need to travel extensively throughout the Peak District and South Pennines.

This is a fixed-term role which ends in September 2026, with a likely extension to 2030.

About You

You will have experience of leading teams in the delivery of practical land management and
nature conservation projects, as well as engaging contractors to support such work. You will
have sound working knowledge of how to ensure quality standards are upheld by both staff and
contractors. You will be computer literate, have knowledge of GIS systems and an HND in an
environmental or related subject, or equivalent, with at least 4 years’ countryside management
experience or similar land-based work. You will need to be capable of leading a team working on
multiple projects at the same time without close supervision. You will have experience of land
management for nature conservation and wider ecosystem services, preferably within the uplands
and protected landscapes. You will have great communication skills as your work will involve
engaging with key stakeholders, including project managers, partner organisations, landowners
and land managers (such as farmers and gamekeepers), as well as voluntary organisations, and
volunteer groups. You will be an excellent problem solver, able to work collaboratively with
others to adapt projects when changes occur and still deliver desired outcomes.

In return, we can offer you the opportunity to make a real difference to the South Pennine
uplands, working as part of a friendly and focused team. You will be based at the Moorland
Centre, in the beautiful village of Edale, minutes from the Pennine Way.
