We are seeking to further strengthen our estate management offer, delivering our ambition for Remus to be the managing agent of choice for green space and habitat management on residential estates. Our managed portfolio consists of over 650 sites ranging from small residential estates to large garden villages, country parks and urban extensions, many with existing ecological features such as woodland, ponds and waterways.
The Green Infrastructure and Biodiversity Manager is an exciting new role requiring a flexible candidate with excellent greenspace, contract management and people skills who will deliver sector leading greenspace and habitat management. You will be responsible for a portfolio of sites within a geographic area and take responsibility for delivering all estate contracts which may include landscape and habitat maintenance, management of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), management of protected species and biodiversity features, estate cleansing and lighting. You will be the main contact on the ground for residents with questions and queries about the management of their estate, supported by a central team who will take the initial calls and make appointments on your behalf to link with your visit schedules.
This is a hybrid role combining office-based work with regular site inspections, audits and stakeholder engagement. Typically, you will spend four days per week visiting sites, monitoring contractor performance, assessing landscape quality, inspecting habitats and environmental assets, and identifying improvement opportunities.
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of greenspaces, public open spaces and environmental assets within a defined geographic area. Your role will focus on ensuring landscapes, habitats, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) features, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and other estate infrastructure are maintained to a high standard and managed in accordance with approved management plans, planning obligations and company objectives.
Acting as the primary on-site representative, you will build positive relationships with residents, contractors, developers and stakeholders, responding to queries and ensuring concerns are resolved effectively. Supported by a central customer services team, you will deliver a visible presence across your sites and promote high-quality greenspace management and environmental stewardship.
You will be responsible for specifying remedial works, monitoring contractor performance, scrutinising completed works and ensuring expenditure is controlled appropriately. You will also support the review and development of landscape specifications, management plans, site budgets and maintenance programmes.
The role includes undertaking pre-handover inspections of new developments, auditing landscape installations, habitat creation areas, SuDS features, public open spaces and ecological enhancements to ensure compliance with approved plans, planning conditions and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements before acceptance into management.
Where sites are subject to BNG requirements, you will support the implementation, monitoring and reporting of Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and long-term environmental objectives.
Regular travel across your designated area will be required, along with occasional attendance at company offices, training events, meetings and industry activities. You may also provide support to neighbouring areas when required.
Our Head Office is in Salisbury, with subsidiary offices around the country.
Please note: This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
