Location: Montreal, QC (on-site)Term: PermanentHigh Tech Genesis seeks an experienced Head of Information Service to oversee the planning, development, and support of secure, sustainable IT services, sharing daily management responsibilities with other Heads and the CIO.In this role, you will:Participates in the development of the long-term vision and planning for the departmentDevelops the Information Systems group’s annual plans and priorities, and is a key contributor to the creation and execution on strategic planning for IS TeamLeads the intake and successful delivery of information systems projects and is accountable for the creation of related governance bodies for management and oversight of information systems projects (Steering, Management, Operational committees).Oversees hiring and overall management of the Information Systems groupDeploys staff to meet the goals and objectives of the Information Systems group most appropriatelyCoaches, trains, and develops employees to enable their professional developmentGathers and submits budget requests for information systemsReviews and approves ongoing information system expensesApproves annual performance plans and conducts regular reviews with direct reportsBuilding strong collaborative partnerships with many cloud-based vendors and servicesDesign and implementation of technical solutions to meet business requirementsIntegrity of applications through defined QA, testing, and vendor management practicesSolutions design and consulting support to units across the customerFor selected programs and projects, the Head of IS may engage the services of a Project or Program Manager to ensure successful delivery of cross-departmental initiativesPlays a key leadership role in the information systems pre-acquisition and acquisition processes, including business analysis, requirements gathering, RFI/RFP processes, and contract negotiationsMaintains a future-oriented outlook for information systems, staying up-to-date on industry and higher education trends that may have an impactImplements back-end ERP-level applicationsPromotes and implements a modern system-to-system data architecture and integration capability that creates bridges between information systems to better employee experienceEnsures integration with core applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Microsoft powerplatform)Implements connectivity with external partners (e.g., contract manufacturer, supplier, etc.)Oversees Applications Administration and Database Administration functionsProvides support for, and use of, both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure platformsEnsures the necessary production support for information systems, including, when required, an emergency on-call service for critical systemsProvides support for, and incorporation of, guiding principles for cybersecurity, data privacy, usability and digital accessibility into all information systems and data platformsEstablishes and maintains strong relationships with departmental leadership teamsBuilds strong relationships and strategic alliances with external technology partnersCollaborates with the CIO and senior leaders to oversee Information Systems, including all aspects of application lifecycle management10–12 years of progressive experience with a strong record of accomplishment and success in Information Technology10+ years of experience in ITIL / ITMS Approach5+ years in a leadership roleProven experience managing large, distributed IS teamsStrong knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile/ScrumProficiency in technology strategy, cloud infrastructure, and software architectureExperience with budget management, project planning, and resource allocationProven ability to match information systems needs with the current and future business issuesStrong leadership skills essential, with a demonstrated positive track record of leading a cohesive team with common goals and measurable outcomes in a complex IT environmentUniversity degree or equivalent post-secondary education and/or experience requiredBonus skill:Bilingual English and French written and spokenHigh Tech Genesis Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
