Head of Projects

Calder Rivers Trust

We’re looking for a Head of Projects to lead Calder Rivers Trust’s project management function and oversee the delivery of our environmental improvement work across the catchment. This is a senior leadership role in an ambitious and growing organisation, responsible for ensuring our projects deliver meaningful environmental outcomes and are developed, managed and delivered to high professional standards.

You’ll lead a team responsible for developing, managing and delivering projects that improve rivers, habitats and landscapes across the catchment. You’ll oversee projects from early development and feasibility through to delivery, evaluation and learning, ensuring they are well planned, properly governed and deliver lasting benefits.

You’ll establish and continually improve the Trust’s approach to project management, governance and assurance, providing oversight of project performance, risk, resources and priorities across a diverse project portfolio. Working across the Trust and with external partners, you’ll help develop future opportunities, maintain a strong pipeline of work and support the delivery of increasingly ambitious projects.

We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills, sound judgement and the ability to bring clarity and direction in complex environments. Someone who enjoys developing people, improving how organisations deliver projects and helping teams achieve their best work.

We’re a flexible, human-centred organisation. The role is full-time (35 hours/week), with 28 days’ holiday plus public holidays. You can choose a working pattern that fits your life, and we’re happy to explore reduced hours if that’s what you need.

If this sounds like a role you could grow into, even if you don’t tick every box right now, we’d be keen to hear from you. Send us an application and tell us what you’d bring to the role.
