Location: Handsworth
Duration: Full-time (part-time options negotiable)
Salary: Dependent on Experience (DOE)About the School and Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant, community-focused school in Handsworth. The school is dedicated to delivering high-quality education and fostering the holistic development of every student, ensuring that each child reaches their full potential.In this role, you will primarily work within the classroom, with occasional responsibilities for Planning, Preparation, and Assessment (PPA) cover. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining a consistent learning environment and upholding high academic standards.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in lesson preparation in alignment with the curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Lead engaging and effective lessons in the teacher’s absence.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom.
  • Engage in school-wide activities and contribute to the school’s overall ethos.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification (Level 4 or 5) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar educational role.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Creative, flexible, and proactive in addressing challenges.
  • Level 1 Safeguarding (training available if needed).
  • Full Enhanced DBS Certificate (assistance with application available).
