Responsibilities

AAN Associates is seeking highly qualified National Evaluation Consultants to join our team conducting an evaluative review of a WASH Program in East Africa. The consultants will be responsible for leading qualitative data collection and analysis in their respective countries, including conducting interviews, focus groups, and contributing to reporting.

  • Experience conducting/contributing to multi-disciplinary evaluations and/or research assignments.
  • Knowledge of evaluation methodologies and mixed-method approaches, and extensive experience employing qualitative research methods
  • Strong ability to rationalize and process quantitative and qualitative data, including through the use of dedicated analytical tools and software.
  • Knowledge of the UN system, UN programming is considered a plus.
  • Solid analytical, communication and drafting writing skills a must
  • In-depth knowledge of the implementation areas and current WASH and displacement dimensions

Requirements:

  • National of and based in Ethiopia, Somalia, or Sudan
  • Minimum 5 years of experience conducting evaluations, research, or assessments, particularly in the WASH sector
  • Proven experience with qualitative data collection and analysis methodologies
  • Strong skills in processing and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data using analytical software/tools
  • Excellent writing and communication abilities to produce high-quality reports and deliverables
  • In-depth knowledge of the WASH situation, displacement contexts, and implementation areas in the assigned country
  • Knowledge of the UN system and work is an advantage
  • Fluency in English and relevant local language(s)
