We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate will join our team, working within the senior living industry, and will play a key role in managing payroll and benefits for multiple residences.Responsibilities:

• Accurate processing and management of high-volume payroll for employees across multiple provinces, utilizing ADP Workforce Now system.
• Ensuring all payroll and benefits transactions are accurately reported and recorded, in compliance with tax laws, regulations, and company policy.
• Administering employee benefit plan, verifying that benefit deductions and taxable benefits are set up correctly.
• Handling various complex unionized environments.
• Dealing with workers compensation board and providing necessary information.
• Responding to all payroll and benefits related inquiries from employees.
• Conducting WCB/WSIB remittances, EHT year – end reporting, new hires, employee changes, termination, ROEs, garnishments, T4 slips and other year-end reporting activities.
• Ensuring company policies and government requirements are followed as they relate to payroll.
• Maintaining confidentiality of personal files and payroll information.
• Preparing and generating standard and complex reports.
• Maintaining employee records for wage level along with their base rate and preparing reports for wage level program.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP – Financial Services
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now
• Hands-on experience with Ceridian and Dayforce
• Comprehensive knowledge of 401k – RRSP Administration procedures
• Proficiency in About Time software
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions
• Auditing skills
• Familiarity with Benefit Functions
