Project field Coordinator

UNV - United Nations Volunteers

Mission and objectives

UNDP’s Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (PAPP) derives its mandate from the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 33/147 of 20 December 1978. Called upon by United Nations Member States in that year, UNDP was requested “to improve the economic and social conditions of the Palestinian people by identifying their social and economic needs and by establishing concrete projects to that end”. UNDP/PAPP is a responsive development agency that works together with the Palestinian people to fulfil their aspiration for sustainable human development based on self-determination, equality and freedom.

As the United Nations lead agency on international development, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. We help countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities, and to build resilience to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Our work is concentrated in three focus areas; sustainable development, democratic governance and peacebuilding, and climate and disaster resilience. UNDP’s mandate is to end poverty, build democratic governance, rule of law, and inclusive institutions. We advocate for change and connect countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life.
UNDP/Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (PAPP) is a responsive development agency that works together with the Palestinian people to fulfil their aspiration for sustainable human development based on self- determination, equality and freedom. UNDP/PAPP is one of the leading agencies in the climate change and environment sector and undertakes various projects to strengthen climate resilience in Palestine. UNDP/PAPP is currently conducting research and project development to promote circular business and climate-smart management in the dairy industry. This assignment mainly supports the coordination of the constructions (e.g. biogas, composting and wastewater treatment plants etc…) for a non-profit organisation. These constructions will be implemented through NGOs, using funding from Spain, and Project Coordinator will be responsible for strengthening partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, as well as monitoring and managing to ensure that the construction is carried out at the appropriate time, quality and manner.
