Introduction
Summary of the overall aim of the project:
The aim of this project is to support the nationwide deployment of reliable satellite internet connectivity at health facilities across Zambia, under the Smart Health Systems / Solar for Health initiative. This will be achieved by designing, fabricating, supplying, installing, and commissioning standardized steel mounting structures for Starlink Gen 3 Standard and Starlink Mini kits, ensuring robust, safe, and cost-effective installations that comply with national and UNDP standards.
The Contractor shall provide the following goods/services:
Engineering design, fabrication, supply, installation, and commissioning of standardized wall-mounted steel support structures for Starlink Gen 3 Standard and Mini satellite internet kits at designated health facilities.
Conducting site surveys and preparing detailed shop drawings for mounting solutions.
Delivery and installation of mounts and Starlink kits, including cable routing, testing, and commissioning.
Provision of all labour, materials, equipment, and temporary works required for safe and compliant installation.
Coordination with UNDP, Smart Zambia Institute (SZI), and Ministry of Health (MoH) at national, provincial, district, and facility levels.
Personnel with experience in satellite dish installations, such as Starlink kits or similar systems, are required.
Outputs:
Successful installation and commissioning of Starlink Gen 3 Standard and Mini kits at approximately 750 health facilities nationwide.
Delivery of robust, safe, and compliant mounting structures, with all installations meeting Smart Zambia guidelines, Starlink manufacturer specifications, UNDP Social and Environmental Standards, and applicable Zambian laws and codes.
Comprehensive documentation including as-built drawings, commissioning checklists, asset registers, and photographic evidence of installations.
Enhanced digital connectivity for health facilities, supporting improved health service delivery and data management.
