This position, a three and a half year Research Fellowship will help the Principal Investigator run the major excavations, help direct the post-excavation programme, analyse the data on coastal erosion in northern Scotland and help co-ordinate the project monograph write-up.The successful candidate will join the vibrant department of at the University of Aberdeen who specialize in the archaeology of the north, archaeological science, cultural heritage and community and indigenous archaeologies.This position, a 3.5 year Research Fellowship will help the Principal Investigator run the major excavations, help direct the post-excavation programme, analyse the data on coastal erosion in northern Scotland and help co-ordinate the project monograph write-upThe successful candidate will have; a PhD in Archaeology, detailed knowledge of the archaeology of the first millennium AD in northern Britain and its broader context, a track record of publication, fieldwork skills including supervising excavation and survey projects, digital skills including; ArcGIS, drone survey, illustration and database creation and management.Salary will be at Grade 6, £37,099 per annum.Informal enquiries should be made to Prof Gordon Noble, Professor of Archeology, e-mail: g.noble@abdn.ac.uk 01224 272333.Should you require a visa to undertake employment in the UK you will be required to fulfil the minimum points criteria to be granted a Certificate of Sponsorship under the requirements of the Skilled Worker visa.
