Introduction
The LoCAL Nepal project aims to:
· Increase availability of climate finance to local government to implement gender-responsive and inclusive climate change adaptation investments;
· Address climate change impact at the local level while investing in climate resilient development pathways;
· Strengthen the capacities of local governments and their communities for effective adaptation actions that also support their sustainable development.
The objective of the assignment is to:
- Strengthen the capacity of pilot local governments to mainstream climate change adaptation into planning, budgeting and investment processes;
- Support the effective implementation and institutionalization of Performance-Based Climate Resilience Grants (PBCRGs) under the LoCAL framework in Nepal;
- Deliver technical assistance to ensure the effective implementation of PBCRG funded Climate Adaptation Investments in LoCAL pilot Local Governments.
