Take your SMMO skills to the South Atlantic
Join SAERI (Falklands) Limited and play a key role in a new Seabird and Marine Mammal Observer programme supporting environmental monitoring in Falkland Islands waters.
Contract: 2 years
Location: Falkland Islands
Salary: £37,601 + £50/day seagoing allowance

What you will do
- Undertake ESAS-standard seabird and marine mammal surveys offshore
- Record species, abundance, behaviour and environmental conditions
- Enter, manage and quality-check survey data
- Maintain survey equipment and work across a range of offshore vessels
- Participate in training, standardisation and the development of local SMMO capability
We’re looking for
- Current JNCC-accredited ESAS Surveyor accreditation
- Experience undertaking ESAS
- Strong seabird identification skills, including pelagic species
- Good computer literacy and accurate field-data management skills
- The ability and willingness to undertake extended offshore deployments
- Have an appropriate offshore sea survival certificate
