As such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing data and identifying trends, opportunities for improvements in service and efficiencies that could be gained by innovative practices. The role supports the Executive Director, Medical Imaging (MI) with strategic MI planning initiatives by conducting ongoing analysis of business systems data from various perspectives (human resources, financial, clinical etc), using advanced statistical and analytical methods. The Senior Business Analyst customizes reporting to suit departmental business needs and advises management on recommendations for improving internal and external processes. The role will monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system, produce data and report on performance, measuring against set indicators. The role provides work direction to the Business Analyst as required.What you’ll do

  • Develops a data quality management plan that ensures the integrity of program data.
  • Adopts a systems approach to analysis ensuring an alignment with strategic goals and objectives of the department.
  • Provides overall data analysis, while applying methods to enhance data quality and integrity.
  • Works with key partners to provide statistical analysis of data, reports of trend analysis on key indicators and proactive indicator measurement.
  • Performs quality assurance audits and reports on program process and outcome metrics.
  • Prepares confidential briefing papers, operation review and strategic business cases.
  • Develops and monitors assigned projects.
  • Acts as a leader in the investigation and analysis of identified data quality errors/incidents in collaboration with relevant partners, with a view to reducing the potential of future errors and ensuring accountability and responsibility for data quality within Human Resources
  • Liaises with other staff throughout the organization to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, the position advises on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve first time quality.
  • Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and delivers training to relevant stakeholders on the proper use of various data sources.

What you bringQualifications

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology or related field, plus one (1) to two (2) years’ recent, related experience in data analysis and system quality management, including the use of querying tools (e.g. PeopleSoft, Crystal Reports, Access, Excel, SQL) to access relational databases.
  • Uses strong statistical skills to analyze data and information. Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and tact with confidential information. Strong knowledge of quality processes. Strong facilitation and education skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management. Ability to function in both a long-term strategic perspective and short-term operational perspective. Comprehends broad implications of business decisions. Identifies, collects and analyses relevant data and information including industry-wide assessments and research. Innovative and results oriented. Keeps abreast of technology changes, anticipates opportunities, and ensures readiness for future technology changes and enhancements. Physical ability to perform the duties of the role. Ability to work effectively in both self-directed and team environments. Exercises strong initiative, self-direction and problem-solving abilities to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Practices diligence and care when gathering, maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data. Ability to gather, summarize and report information in a clear and concise manner.

Job Type: Regular, Full-TimeSalary Range: $74,618 – $107,264 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
