Senior Economist

Our reputation for quality and independence, outstanding networks and unrivalled location at the heart of Westminster makes us the ideal base to build a national profile for academic or policy research that makes real impact.We are now seeking a Senior Economist to join the Macroeconomic Modelling and Forecasting team.The successful candidate will work on developing our global macro econometric model, NiGEM, as well as their own research in an area relevant to macro economics and/or monetary economics.This is an exciting role where you are encouraged to explore your research interests, while developing your applied macroeconomic modelling skills. You will help us to develop our global macro econometric model, NiGEM, so that it remains the macroeconomic model of choice for institutions across the world, as well as design, lead and carry out research projects in your developing areas of expertise. Under the guidance of more senior colleagues, you will be supported to build and cultivate external relationships and contribute to the drafting of research bids and proposals. You will also have opportunities to lead on proposals.The essential requirements we are looking for in the successful candidate are:Experience * Use of a range of research techniques and methodologies, notably applied macroeconomic modelling and analysis of macroeconomic data.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities * PhD in economics or equivalent.
