Our 99,600 employees operate a network of 2,600 offices and laboratories, working together to enable a better, safer and more interconnected world.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an organized and efficient Shipper/Receiver and Procurement Support individual to join our team in Sidney, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of our facility while supporting procurement activities. These responsibilities are carried out under the supervision of the Client Services Manager. Incumbents must be capable of multi-tasking to meet the department needs of working on several assignments simultaneously.

  • Determine best method of international and domestic shipping using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, rates and required delivery dates.
  • Ensures that there is an understanding of LIMS shipping requests, and questions the Client Services group if clarity or additional information is required.
  • Maintain compliance with laws (e.g. soil permits), regulations (e.g. Transportation of

Dangerous Goods), and standards (e.g. ICCP-Certified wood packaging) and complete appropriate documentation as required. * Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments

  • Prepare and ship outgoing orders accurately and efficiently with all relevant documentation and instructions.
  • Manage outgoing shipment requests to ensure that they are sent and delivered as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using onsite inventory management systems
  • Assist with procurement activities, including order placement and vendor communication
  • Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of materials in the area
  • Coordinate with logistics providers for timely pickups and deliveries
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Assist with data entry and documentation related to shipping, receiving, and procurement
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in shipping/receiving or procurement roles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with inventory control and cycle counting would be an asset
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures would be advantageous
  • Understanding of procurement processes would be advantageous
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Forklift certification would be advantageous
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
