Botswana has demonstrated a strong and growing commitment to ending violence against children (VAC) in all settings, recognizing it as a national development and human rights priority. This has been shown through the adoption of the UN Conventions on the Rights of Children (CRC) and the domestication through the Children’s Act of 2009. Botswana’s commitment, combined with UNICEF’s technical and strategic support, is laying the foundation for a safer, more protective environment for all children. Continued investment in prevention, response systems, and community engagement will be key to achieving lasting change in the fight against VAC.
