Tender Opportunity: Project Evaluator

The Tees Rivers Trust is seeking an experienced, independent evaluator to measure the impact, effectiveness, and long-term legacy of the Tees Invasive Species Project (TISP). Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this catchment-wide initiative combines habitat restoration, community engagement, and invasive non-native species (INNS) management across the Tees Catchment.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Benchmarking & Framework: Develop an initial evaluation and benchmarking framework at project inception.
• Interim Monitoring: Conduct annual check-ins and produce short annual interim reports to keep the project on track.
• Final Evaluation: Deliver a comprehensive 20–30 page summative evaluation report, executive summary, and presentation (with an optional celebration video) by May 2031.
• Methodology: Utilise mixed quantitative and qualitative approaches (surveys, interviews, demographic/postcode mapping) to engage diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, landowners, and schools.
• Fund Alignment: Evaluate success against the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s four investment principles: saving heritage, protecting the environment, inclusion/participation, and organisational sustainability.

Requirements

• Proven track record evaluating community and environmental heritage projects (preferably Heritage Fund-backed).
• Professional Indemnity Insurance up to £10m.
• Strong data protection and cybersecurity standards.
• CHAS accreditation or completion of the Tees Rivers Trust Contractor Competence Questionnaire.
