Devon Wildlife Trust
Are you a community engagement professional who is highly personable, organised and passionate about nature?
Are you committed to supporting community powered change and to helping local people take action for nature in Devon?
As part of our ten-year plan, Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) has set itself an ambitious goal: by 2030, at least 1 in 4 people will be actively engaged with wildlife – we want everyone in Devon to make action for nature’s recovery part of their daily life. To achieve this, we need to mobilise communities; to inspire and enable the creation of wildlife-friendly spaces across villages, parishes, towns, and cities, and to build a network of wildlife champions and conservation leaders to support nature’s recovery in Devon.
As a Wilder Communities Officer, you will nurture community leadership and inspire & support communities to take meaningful action for nature’s recovery. If you are a great communicator with a deep understanding and demonstrable experience of community capacity building, then this could be the role for you.
The successful candidate will become part of a friendly, ambitious and innovative team that is making a real difference for nature in Devon.
This is a part-time (22.5 hours per week) temporary post based at Cricklepit Mill, Exeter.
Ideally, the successful candidate will work Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, but we welcome applications from candidates seeking an alternative three-day working pattern between Monday and Thursday.
Interviews are being held on Thursday 13 August at Cricklepit Mill.
We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and abilities who meet the essential criteria for this role. To achieve our vision, we need more people, and more diverse people, on nature’s side. We are committed to developing an inclusive and diverse organisation, in which everyone feels supported, valued, and able to be their full selves.
DWT is committed to the principle of equal opportunity in employment.
