This will be a three-year, renewable appointment and does not confer eligibility for tenure.The Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery is part of McGill University, Canada’s most international university, which is located in vibrant, multicultural Montreal, in the francophone province of Quebec. The neuroscience community at McGill and in greater Montreal is one of the largest and most diverse in North America.The successful candidate will be appointed to clinical practice at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH), a member facility of the CIUSSS-West-Central Montreal. The JGH is a major teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada’s internationally renowned McGill University.The Division of Neurology has active clinical and basic research programs in cerebrovascular disease as well as clinical and clinical research programs in movement disorders, behavioural neurology, demyelinating diseases, autonomic nervous system disorders, neuromuscular diseases and basic science research activities in the mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, and leads strong clinical neuroscience teaching programs in undergraduate and postgraduate medicine.Job DutiesThe successful candidate will contribute to a strong interdisciplinary clinical and/or research program in Cerebrovascular Disease at McGill University and will be expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (i.e., research, teaching, supervision of students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees). The incumbent will be expected to pursue scholarly activities and advance clinical care in Cerebrovascular Disease.All McGill faculty members are also expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community.
