The post holder will support the multidisciplinary team in the management of patients with mental health needs not on CPA and those patients subject to CPA, as envisaged in relevant NICE Guidance (at present). The post-holder will work with an MDT including psychology, social work, CPN colleagues, occupational therapists, support workers and trainees. Post holder will clinically lead the Team, overseeing the delivery of care under CPA and non-CPA, for a cohort of patients registered with certain GP surgeries.Candidates must hold either a CCT or achieved Article 14(4) of the GMC’s specialist register with evidence of relevant training and experience. Full registration with the GMC and a UK driving licence are also essential. The successful candidate will be subject to appraisal and validation process according to Trust policies and procedures.Main duties of the jobDetails in attached JD.1. Provide clinical and professional leadership in the service.2. Ensure timely assessment and treatment of older adults with psychiatric disorders in the community who require the intervention of our specialist services.3. Liaise promptly with patients, carers, community and other psychiatrist colleagues, general practitioners, and voluntary and statutory organisations to ensure high quality and well co-ordinated care.4. Liaise with other clinicians as necessary regarding the physical health of patients under their care, and provide an appropriate level of physical health care assessment and review according to circumstance.5.   • Fully registered with the General Medical Council

  • A higher degree such as MD or PhD

ExperienceEssential

  • Experience of clinical work in Acute Adult Psychiatry at SpR, SASG or consultant level within the last 3 years

Desirable

  • Experience of service development and introducing new services in mental health
