An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive Consultant Gynae-Oncologist to join the team at University Hospital of Wales (UHW) due to the retirement of a valued Consultant. The basic salary range for this post is £106,000 per annum to £154,760 per annum.Applicants must ensure they provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.Join us in shaping the future of gynaecological oncology care at UHW!Main duties of the jobYou will join a team of three highly skilled and experienced Gynae-Oncology Consultants, providing comprehensive care for patients with gynaecological cancers. The role will involve the full spectrum of gynaecological surgery, outpatient clinics, and active participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.Key responsibilities will include:Delivering high quality clinical care to patients with gynaecological cancersPerforming complex oncological surgeriesLeading outpatient clinics and contributing to diagnostic pathwaysParticipating in MDT discussions and decision-makingTeaching and supervising junior medical staff, including registrars and medical studentsEngaging in clinical research and contributing to ongoing developments in gynae-oncologyParticipating in the on-call rota to ensure continuity of care for in-patientsAlthough this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.About usCardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest Integrated Health Boards in the UK, employing over 15,000 staff, providing over 100 specialist services.
